CCME General Assembly Elects Treasurer from Hungary

The Churches’ Commission for Migrants in Europe (CCME) hosted its General Assembly in Rome this year. RCH was represented by László Zságer, head of the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid’s (HRCA) Refugee Ministry, and Angela Canadey, project coordinator of the Refugee Ministry.

Bishop Szabolcs János Bogdán of Királyhágómellék has been inaugurated

Szabolcs János Bogdán has officially assumed the position of bishop in the Királyágómellék Reformed Church District. Religious and lay leaders gathered in the church of Kraszna for the inauguration of the bishop on December 9.

Church of Scotland: Presence in Society

The Church of Scotland General Assembly is an important event in the life of the Scottish Church that takes place every year in Edinburgh. This year the head of the Mission Department, Rev. Eszter Dani, was invited to represent the Reformed Church in Hungary at the Assembly as an international delegate.

Discussing the Hungarian Perspective on World Mission

Rev. László Gonda has been a member of the Commission on World Mission and Evangelism since 2006 and together with his fellow commissioners, helped develop mission statement of the WCC entitled, Together Towards Life: Mission and Evangelism in Changing Landscapes.

Bishop Bölcskei met with Armenian Church Leaders at WCC Assembly

At the 10th General Assembly of the World Council of Churches, Gusztáv Bölcskei, presiding bishop of the RCH, participated in meetings with His Holiness Karekin II, supreme patriarch and Catholicos of the Holy See of St. Echmiadzin and All Armenians and also Nareg Alemezian, Archbishop and representative of the Cilician Catholicosate (Lebanon).
